I have 3,500 square meters of houses in central Florida and the top of the line heat Central Air installed a few years ago. Everything works great except one thing: I have the whole house cool with her and at 4500 watts in my power generator of 6500 watts is about to run it at 1100 watts, refrigerators and burn simultaneously. Another thing is you have central air conditioning more than $ 250 electricity bill to get during the summer and that is when the thermostat is set at only 79 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, I ordered the unit says it will be so, so portable that the cooling time to time to subsidize. This after 25 days with Beth, We received a SPT WA-9000E 9,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner on 6/11/10. It was a strange smell the first few times we switched on - a plastic smell would be the best way to describe it. After one week, my husband called (909) 468-5288 and leave a message (no one called back) Later that day he called (800) 330-0388 and spoke with a woman who said she is always blowing air cold, there was a freon leak. He said the smell can be attributed to the styrofoam packing inside the machine. We assume that smelled strange, because it was new. We use four or five times for maybe three hours at a time. Well, today is 07/06/10 and reaches 100 degrees outside and no smell, but no cold air blowing machine. I sent an email to the site Sunpentown through Amazon. I want everything in writing this piece on how to get 80 pounds of garbage back to them. The financial burden should not be mine, after this item for only 25 days. I'll update with their response. Updated: July 7, 2010 - Customer Service was very pleasant. The exchange is in the process. . . Updated: July 13, 2010 - Semi-disaster. We received the replacement of the coolant, but now fled on what I called the customer service and was told UPS must be dropped the box. He told me to put it back in the box and the appearance tomorrow as UPS has been damaged, and another alternative would have been sent today. A return label was sent to the replacement.
