SUMMARY Phillips Pierce: 5 / 5 stars - glad I bought enthusiastically recommend it to friends, and not hesitate to buy a new model window fan ----- This Lasko 2155A - also sold as the 9155 model King Air - is a true blessing for me. I live in the Deep South (Georgia), where the sweltering summer heat index (H + heating near 100% humidity), often reaches 130 or more - and no air conditioning. For me, a big fan of the whole house a window like this makes all the difference between comfort and hell in July and August roll around (which is July 27th as I write this, and I'm sitting near the window with the fan upon him). This is truly a house window fan, and costs much less to operate than an air conditioner. Compared to the center of A / C, saving more than a hundred dollars a month, which is more than $ 600 a year each year that the money be better spent elsewhere! With this high volume fan, I have my whole house cool without the consumption of electricity $ 150 + per month from the center of A / C. This fan has paid the first month. Also, I discovered that as I got used to not have A / C, I like the summers and I are almost lethargic and angry when I'm in a place without air conditioning, anywhere from a supermarket parking lot barbecue. It does everything I ask, why should I pay $ 150 + per month until the end so dependent on air conditioning that can not be happy to enjoy the outdoors in the summer?! This is what your body is acclimated to. For the hottest summer nights, you can create a small window A / C unit in your bedroom, and still save money because you can fan instead use for the rest of the house of having to skyrocketing electric costs for central A / C BENEFITS: * Cost effective to use - this fan moves 2470 CFM (cubic feet of air per minute), 90 watts - compare that with the larger 20 "model (Model # 9166 Air King), who from 3560 CFM 170 watts moves - a 89% increase in power for only a 44% increase in airflow ... makes sense to just buy two of these 16 "King Lasko 2155A/Air 9,155 units instead ... y You get twice the amount of air, not 44% more - and you will get only ten watts * moves much more air - more of a fan section 20, "sold plus everything at Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe, Ace Hardware, True Value, pharmacy, or anywhere else I saw fuse * 3-pin safety plug to the ground * Options * 3-speed multi-purpose hall instead of 2 or just on / off * Electrically reversible intake and exhaust valves - a big plus, because I want be capable of hot exhaust air during the day and then turn back to give fresh air during the night .. without manually de-install the entire unit back and see how you have to do with the fans a couple of other brands (! ahem) * sounded quiet in comparison to the old metal-blade fans in recent years, which made like airplane propellers * in the U.S. from our friends and neighbors and fellow countrymen, not in some Chinese sweatshop NEUTRAL: * Construction feels a little fragile . .. E Everything is plastic, except the inner grid - but this is largely irrelevant, because later in the window, sits there and plastic is doing a good job of sitting in a window as metal, and on the bright side is lighter than a metal fan would make it easier to install and hide in the attic or the basement at the end of the season * Do not expect to rest on the highest speed, there is some wind noise ... but it is not blame fans, and there is nothing you can do about it ... move large volumes of air at a high speed cause noise, no matter what, so you can not blame the fan or the expensive * producer - for the construction of almost-all-plastic, and only a 50% (maximum) of airflow.
