We live in Oregon, not too hot, but there are one or two months in summer, where the oppressive heat and humidity of the house. I wanted a window, cheap small A / C for added comfort. I wanted something small enough that you can store more than 10 months. So, after much research I ordered this model. I was going to be the model 6K BTU with electronic controls, but I thought I could get something super cheap and if I could use the work as a single room refrigerator. Sent free of charge makes this a very good deal. He came in a week. Installation was easy, following the instructions in the manual. I had to install and remove the A / C of about 3 times to get all the stamps right. The image is a lot of different thicknesses of foam and foam tape. There are no clear guidelines on what to do with it except the stuff in the gap above the upper band, so I've been experimenting with different combos to get a good seal. We have vinyl windows with screens recent storms, but not much in the unit dropped right in. There are some gaps to the ground in this configuration. I filled it with thick foam that came with the device. What goes around, but looks are not too large. Luckly I ordered extra tape is recommended as another, and I make it small pieces of caulk inside and outside, so that large foam inside. It actually seems pretty neat and professionally. $ 4 well spent;) In any case, the unit is installed in our lounge. We are in a bungalow so the piece Box 1940, about half the width and length of the house. To connect the rooms and the kitchen. We'll see how it within the next week 95 + temps we have some $ 10 BOX fans will circulate air around, so I can move the cold air. One thing is that I've heard mentioned on a few other models that give the fan catches water in the pot, and spit them around. This is a feature and not a bug;). The device is designed so slightly to the rear when mounted correctly pitch. Moisture away from the area gathered at the bottom. The fan blade is coated with rubber and are designed to absorb water and spray it on the evaporator coils. This facilitates some pre-cooling the outdoor air. It dramatically improves efficiency. I would not drill drainage holes that other people have mentioned. Summary: $ 100 and my house is cold and quiet. You can not say much more. If there is not enough for the hottest days I can get one more move and move it to the bedrooms. It is very quiet on low, but I like white noise .. I hope it lasts, even if not I would gladly pay another $ 100 in 2 years. 119 of 125 people found this review helpful rises above Expactations by A. Mast I kept hoping he would take my flat COOL-ER. I expected to keep him calm, not cold. I also had a small problem with the format. The only window that pops up in my house is a vertically scrolling window, I can conditioners are not meant to. Once I received, I began to assemble and install. Initially, I wanted to leave the extension off, since my window was only 18 cm, but after that I took and I thought more, I realized I could still help to maintain support. So I put them. It is about an inch inside the window to help the fall. Also, I hoped to buy the wood and put that above, but once I saw how it was tough with only the extensions, I put the cardboard and plastic sealed around the edges with tape. Very red neck, I know. It 'was sealed with the help of some other accompanying pieces to help seal.
