By Mona Lisa I like this fan because it blends in with the ceiling and doesn't look like a big ugly ceiling fan with stupid looking ugly lights on it. No "fake" wooden blades. No ugly brass. It's about as "simple" as you can get, quiet as it could possibly be, and inexpensive. It is my opinion that ceiling fans should be "felt" and not seen or heard! We put this in a guest bedroom and it replaced a hideous looking LOUD "Hampton Bay" from Home Depot that was quite frankly shameful. lol My husband did not understand why I chose no lights on it until it was installed and he could see how much nicer the room looked just with lamp lighting and no ugly fan lights. 22 of 22 people found the following review helpful. Moves air - quietly By P. Marshall Replaced an older fan which was noisy and didn't move much air unless set to the highest speed (where it added vibration to the noise). The new Hunter is silent (all you can hear is the blades moving the air) and is totally vibration free without installing the balancing kit. 21 of 22 people found the following review helpful. Attractive and functional By D. Worrell We bought two of these for our office and they are simply attractive, run so quietly we forget it's on, and move the air quite well on three speeds. Although not mentioned anywhere in the literature, they are wired to accept a light kit. We purchased a Hunter light kit for one of the fans, and it works perfectly. See all 65 customer reviews...

Squirrel Cage Fans (180 CFM)

180 CFM Squirrel Cage Exhaust Fan. Exhaust fans are the most efficient way to combat both C02 loss and high temperatures, two things that can hinder your plants. They are set up to either blow air to another room or down a long tube to the outdoors. How do you know what size you need? Calculate the CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) by dividing the cubic footage in your grow room by five. The blower you will choose based on this will be large enough to replace all of the air in the room in five minutes.

Highly recommended By Valeri Morgan This is truly a "whisper quiet" heater that is great for the period just before the winter and probably during early spring. It works very well, and increases the room temperature quickly enough. It is not meant to be the main heater but it is great as a secondary and fast heating device. Highly recommended. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Don't buy this heater By Chandler I had about the same experience as a previous poster. I received the heater, opened the box and the heater was filthy. It was covered with dirt and fingerprints and looked like it was used for a year. But since I paid so much for shipping I decided to at least give it a try and was very disappointed. It say's you can adjust the temperature to whatever temp you want (up to 85 degrees). I bought it to put under my desk at work because it is so cold in my office. I get cold very easily and I sit right under the office air conditioner, so I set it to the highest temp, 85. It wouldn't go past 72 degrees which is the temperature of the office and the fan just shut off. When I tried adjusting it again, nothing happened. I couldn't adjust the temp up or down, or even shut it off completely (the manual say's you can shut it off by holding the mode button for 2 seconds). The only way to change the temp was to unplug it for 10 minutes. I am sending this back today. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Very quiet By M. Wilkerson There are more efficient space heaters on the market with more accurate thermostats, but this heater is incredibly quiet and heats well. It is not a perfect heater, but I could not find a better heater to use in the bedroom due to the fact it is so quiet. I was surprised to find that there were no or very few other fan driven space heaters out there which have a digital thermostat and are quiet. One small negative about this unit is that the thermostat is located close to the heating element which causes the heater to cycle on a off a bit more than others. In basic the thermostat registers the temperature inside the unit instead of the temperature of the room. But since it is whisper quiet, that is not a big issue. The thermostat readjusts after it cools a little and then the heater turns on again. Another small drawback is that when you turn off the heater and then turn it on again, you have to reset the thermostat settings. That is a very small issue, but I am not certain why they could not make put a thermostat in the unit that does not have to be readjusted each time it is turned on. I bought another heater that heats the room a bit faster and did not cycle on and off. But that heater was too loud. I place this heater fairly close to my nightstand and cannot hear it turning on or off. To be used for heating a bedroom, I recommend the use of this unit. As other reviewers have stated, mine also arrived covered with fingerprints and a layer of dust. At first, I thought it may have been used before, but after inspecting the heating element and the condition of the unit after I cleaned it up, I realized it was completely new and had not previously been used. It had simply acquired the dust and fingerprints in whatever packaging process the company used. Some buyers may inaccurately assumed their units were previously used simply because of the dusty condition of the units when first taken out of the box. As with the unit I purchased, it simply required a dusting before first using it. See all 10 customer reviews...

Seabreeze 3200-0 Turbo-Aire

Turbo-Aire is the world's first aerodynamic household fan. It's patented jet inspired design produces a powerful, focused column of air which actually draws in surrounding air to increase its velcoity. Turbo-Aire delivers 100% more air than other conventionally designed fans with comparable motors, and is 200% to 300% more energy efficient. Remarkably, Turbo-Aire is whisper quiet on all three speeds, and consumes less energy than a 100-watt lightbulb, even when operating at full throttle. At 20 feet, Turbo-Aire delivers over 11,000 cubic feet of air per minute!

Amazon Sales Rank: #318704 in Home Color: White, gray & silver Brand: Seabreeze Model: 3200-0 Dimensions: 9.70" h x 18.30" w x 19.00" l, 12.00 pounds Jet engine-inspired fan for tabletop, floor, or wall use Delivers over 11,000 cubic feet of air per minute at 20 feet Suitable for cooling, distributing, or ventilating needs 3 speeds with quiet operation and 90-degree rotation Housing measures 15-1/2 inches in diameter

Amazon.com Review Inspired by the design of jet engines, the Seabreeze Turbo-Aire helps cool rooms, improve ventilation, and send stale air packing. The very powerful unit features an aerodynamic design with a curved air inlet--this helps draw in the maximum amount of air with the least obstruction and noise. The fan has three speeds, of which the lowest two are quite quiet for their power. Anyone hot enough to need the third setting probably won’t mind its smooth but firmly audible whirring. Stably secured to a tubular steel base, the fan can be set on a tabletop, placed on the floor, or mounted to the wall (bracket sold separately). The head’s 90-degree rotation lets you direct the breeze where you want it, and a tightening dial secures the fan in its chosen position. Equipped with a built-in carrying handle, the fan’s durable plastic housing measures 15-1/2 inches in diameter; its projected column of air is 12 inches across. --Emily Bedard

The Seabreeze appears to move more air and have lower noise. Neither unit is truly "Whisper Quiet", but the Seabreeze appears to do a better job. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Best fan I ever had By Ronald Stiteler This is an exact duplicate of the fans I bought from Toastmaster years ago called "Aero Stream". They were so good I bought four. I still have three. They are quiet, move more air, and consume less energy than any I have ever had. Like Vornado fans, (my other favorite), the airstream is compacted and travels a great distance without spreading out. In Florida fans get a lot of use and these have had plenty. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Amazing power for the price. By Mark Rogers This little fan really blows! :) A unique design focuses the air column without letting it spread out too much, so what you get is a very windy "tube" of air, enough to make your ears roar from more than 10 ft away. I bought this fan for a very specific purpose, photography, and it packs plenty of punch to get a models hair moving without needing to be right up on the subject. I usually put it on the floor about 8 feet away or so and it does the trick just fine, on the medium setting. From 20 ft, I had the vertical blinds fluttering wildly about. It is also very quiet and and energy efficient, so thats a nice plus. I highly recommend this fan if you need to move a lot of air and don't want to pay over $1000.00 for a wind machine, or just want to cool yourself on a hot day and don't need anything oscillating. I am totally happy with it. See all 22 customer reviews...

I have had 2 pumps do the same thing. Choose another brand or pump style. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Not for gas furnace use...poorly designed switch, no replacement parts available By Paul Johns I have had three of these pumps fail just in about a year each. The failures were caused by the main float switch that turns the pump motor on. The switch contacts appeard burnt, probably because of arcing. My guess is that when used with a gas furnace, the condensate comes in so slowly that the switch sometimes barely makes contact when the tank is close to full, resulting in arcing and eventual failure. When I tried last year to get a replacement switch, I was unable to do so. However, the Field Controls manual lists a main switch/float assembly, so I'll try Monday to get one. If the part is not available, the only option will be to replace the pump entirely. The technical support last time was polite and did send me a new pump (which has since failed). They also tried to send switches, but the switches they sent were not the correct ones, so they were of no use to me. I don't blame their support (they did their best), but I do blame the company for poor design and especially for not having replacement parts available. This is apparently a common design flaw problem for this type of pump: another company, Hartell, even has main switch replacement instructions on its web site (which implies that parts are available--YEA!). If I can't get parts for this pump, I'll be buying a pump for which replacement parts are available. Little Giant pumps seem to get excellent reviews, as do Hartell pumps. The Little Giant pump specs say it has a "snap action" switch, which might avoid this problem. Its instruction sheet also has a complete parts list with part numbers. The Hartell pump has a three-year warranty, but one reviewer noted a failure just after the warranty expired. There are no part numbers listed in the instuction sheet, but the switch is listed on Hartell's web site. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great product at a great price. Most helpful customer reviews 19 of 19 people found the following review helpful. Great value A/C if you don't mind the noise - it's LOUD!!!! By Engineer at large This air conditioner I purchased new for around $269.00. Its small width, (hence the name Compact II) fits in the small width double hung window that I needed it for (I believe my window is 24" width). Most standard sized window units will not. This is one of the reasons for buying it, along with its low price. This unit blows extremely cold and cools my living room and kitchen with ease even on the most brutal summer days in New York. I have no complaints about the ability of this unit to cool whatsoever. My only complaint is it is extremely noisy - it sounds like a factory. It is even very noisy at its lowest fan setting. The manual says to lower the fan if it is too noisy, but that is an exercise in futility. So if you're gonna have to hear it, might as well leave it at maximum. I like the variable fan speed feature. So one would be hard pressed to find a 12,000 BTU for the price of this Frigidaire unit, but you WILL be stuck with the noise. Frigidaire should reverse engineer a Panasonic air conditioner if they want to be serious about competing in this market. I gave it a generous three stars because of its impractical noise levels. 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. First air conditioner damaged before shipment, second air conditioner broke after 6 days of use By Jonathan Scratch the first review. I spoke, or typed too soon. Do not buy this air conditioner. After returning the first one because it was damaged before shipping, the second one has broken as well. Used it for about 6 days in total. The compressor has stopped working completely, just makes a buzzing sound and emits a burning odor. I've had it for about 50 days in total so the return policy is useless. I'm extremely dissapointed with purchase and feel like I have wasted $300+. Tried contacting frigidaire but no luck so far. Unfortunately I can't edit the original rating. I'll update this review with specifics on how Amazon deals with the situation. Again, be extremely careful if you are considering purchasing this air conditioner. 05/22/08 Just want to update this review in terms of how Amazon handled the situation. After calling and Emailing customer service I received an Email from Amazon stating that "As it seems that the problem with this item is more widespread than we originally thought, we are not able to send another replacement. We will gladly refund you in full for the return of this item." It took a few Emails but Amazon refunded me in full for the air conditioner and shipping. I was impressed with how they quickly apologized and offered a full refund; very good customer service. The air conditioner gets 1 star, but Amazon gets 5. I have since purchased an LG 8000 BTU air conditioner. The fan isn't quite as strong, but it's much quieter and the air gets just as cool as the frigidaire. I've used it for about 15 days and the compressor is still working. 6 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Perfect By jtn4148 Easy as pie to install, works exactly as expected. Great for a Dorm By College Student I am a college student with a small/medium sized dorm room, and this fan is perfect for the space! I was surprised at the other reviews because it is EXTREMELY quiet, even on the highest setting. The little blue light on it isn't all the bright, but for sensitive sleepers I'd suggest just taping a piece of paper over it or facing it away from you. It is convenient for the space, cools the room, and makes it feel refreshing when I enter. It is stylish and, most importantly, really allows for a great amount of cool air flow throughout the room. For $50 at Target, GREAT BUY! :) 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Strange noises and bright light By blp170 I bought this fan yesterday and will be returning it tomorrow. The size and shape are perfect for the room, but that's the only good thing I can say. I sleep with a fan every night and bought this for the bedroom. The first thing I noticed was the bright blue light. It's very distracting while trying to sleep. Then I started hearing a strange noise coming from the fan. It was almost like it was trying to turn, but was stuck and scraping and it wasn't even set to rotate! It also didn't give as much of a breeze as other fans I have had. Overall, it was a bust. I was excited about the remote and sleep timer, but it's going back anyways. If it was being used in the living room or other busy area, it would probably be fine. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. LOUDEST FAN EVER!!!!!!!!! By Jefelito I purchased this fan at Target after returning what seemed like the weaker deal to BB&B. The fan worked like wonders the first night, but I woke up to the fan SCREECHING at me while on "White Noise Mode"! Soon enough, each setting (including "Calm" and "Sleep") were just as noisey. Never having had issues with a FAN before, I foolishly threw the box away; it must have gotten back to corporate b/c these fans don't seem to be available anymore as I've had the worst luck trying to return this monster! I would only suggest this to my worst enemy... Jake. See all 8 customer reviews...

Just remember when ordering the line set you need to order 1/2 and 3/8 for the 12000 BTU unit. They told me 1/2 and 1/4---- not right. 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. The best quality, high efficiency, very quiet Japanese DC inverter split air conditioner By Scott Cohen I bought one TA-12x2C(H)S/IB, one TA-24C(H)S/IB and one TA-07C(H)S/IB last year, it is really very good quality, high efficiency Japanese DC inverter and very very quiet, almost instant heat and cool as soon as you turn on the unit. 2 of 15 people found the following review helpful. Lack of information By Redstorm The split system heat pumps lack important info. and that is power rating. What are the watts, amps? I see the 21 SEER rating that's good, but I need to know the watts and amps to calculate the the power usage. See all 3 customer reviews...

Most helpful customer reviews 16 of 17 people found the following review helpful. A good, versatile fan! By Carolyn I bought the Flippi V8 today and I love it. The main reason for my love is that it replaces a floor model fan that stood out like a sore thumb. This fan sits on the shelf, oscillates, and does what it's designed to do-keep me cool. I do agree that the oscillation switch could have been better placed but because this is a "personal" fan, I do not see that I will need to access the switch very often. If I do, I can just pick the fan up, turn it around, and flip the switch. I intend to let it run 24/7 and I have 4 cats so it will be interesting to see how long it last. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. A disappointment to the Vornado name By Joe Schmo I ordered this fan for it's cool looks and because I have always been impressed with the power of vornando fans. Bottom line is this fan does not move air well (no way it moves air 30 feet) and the tone it produces is a bit unpleasant, not the delightful timbre that the standard Vornando fans have. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Love My Fan By Terri Greenberg I really love my little fan. He has helped save on the use of my air conditioner because it keeps my living room cool. The high speed is a little nosy but the low speed is real guiet. It has a switch for the oscilator, which is nice. The only thing I wish it had is a switch for the "on" "off" button instead of a roll dial. I have to use two hands to turn it off. One to hold the fan, and the other hand to roll the dial. Otherwise I love it. Terri See all 27 customer reviews...

Honeywell HFT114B Oscillating Super-Turbo High-Performance 3-Speed Fan

Honeywell Oscillating High Velocity Air Circulator Table Fan

Along with whisper-quiet operation, the unit features a versatile aerodynamic wind-tunnel design for fast, focused cooling and effective air circulation. The unit also comes equipped with a three-speed motor and a specially designed blade, which provides maximum velocity and dynamic power. In addition, the fan's oscillating base delivers greater, more even air distribution, and its 90-degree tilting fan head allows for directing airflow. Thoughtfully designed, the fan can also be wall mounted to help save floor space. The fan measures approximately 12 by 7 by 13 inches.

Most helpful customer reviews 67 of 67 people found the following review helpful. cheap, quiet, functional By Picky Consumer pros: -much better than a regular traditional fan. This one does that spiral thing with the wind tunnel effect. Its more effective than a regular fan, sends the breeze further out. Its still spread out enough as well, and you can set it to oscillate anyway. -its quiet, since its not a big fan. Even on second highest speed its fairly quiet, and the noise it does make is pleasant, not distracting. On lowest setting can barely hear it. On highest setting its slightly loud, but i could sleep with it on anyway. Its just not a big sized fan, so its not going to get too loud. -Cheap! -decent looking. -lightweight and very portable. Cons: -controls are on top of unit, so when you go to change the speed, sometimes you push the fan down and change its angle. Wish the controls were on the base instead. No biggie tho. Keep in mind it IS on the small side. Its probably meant for a single small bedroom. Just over a foot high and wide. Base is narrow though (about 6 inches deep) it it will fit easily on any desk. Cheap, good looking, looks like it might last for quite a while, solid, quiet, and very functional. Whats not to like? Now I'm ready for summer. 68 of 73 people found the following review helpful. Moves air. Did you want something else? By David A. Baer One of the facts about today's economy that I find amazing is that I can buy a powerful, effective, little machine like this for under twenty dollars. It doesn't seem quite right. This fan is among the more solid ones we've owned. It has three speeds, a lot of power, and oscillates without the creaky, squeaky irritation you often get from such machines. My wife and I sleep in a room with this fan on 'low', which works great to dampen sounds throughout the house, like the cat yowling, the boys prowling, the dogs clicking their nails on the hardwood floors, and the incessant flutter of bat wings. Actually, we haven't had much of the latter, but we're prepared if it kicks in. Buy this fan. 29 of 31 people found the following review helpful. Oscillates.... sometimes. By O. Ihonvbere I'm actually a fan of Honeywell fans, but this particular fan (Honeywell HFT114B Oscillating Base Turbo Fan), I bought because it was supposed to oscillate. Out of the box it worked fine, but less than a week later, it often gets stuck, which is really irritating when you set it up before going to sleep, only to wake up in a sweat to find that the fan has gotten stuck blowing air against the wall. As a stationery fan, it works fine, but I didn't buy an oscillating fan because I wanted a stationery fan. Another complaint I have is that the fan doesn't point downwards, so if you happen to have it set up somewhere higher than where you want the air, you're pretty much out of luck. Rabbit Air BioGS AC Charcoal filter for models SPA-421A and SPA-582A

Charcoal based Activated carbon filters are utilized in BioGS Air Purifiers to capture airborne gases, VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and odors. VOCs are often generated by offgassing from carpets, composite wood furniture and other materials in the home. The effectiveness and the life of the carbon filter are determined by the concentration and density of active carbon in the deodorization filter. Since the BioGS Activated carbon filters have a much higher active carbon concentration and density than ordinary activated carbon filters in the market, odor problems from cooking, pets, smokers, microbial VOC or other sources can be eliminated or minimized very effectively.

Most helpful customer reviews 11 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Love the Rabbit, HATE this filter! By Sean Byron This filter is the one bad part of the system. I have not really noticed the bad smell, but the plastic piece came loose and much of the charcoal escaped. A poor construction on a otherwise good system. 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Shipped fine. Works great. By B. T. Denyer This item was a direct OEM replacement to the filter that came with my unit. My original had a plastic frame while this one has an aluminum one. They also do not have the honeycomb cell shapes (for the charcoal) anymore. Aside from the obvious shipping materials (which were ample): The packaging for this product is minimal: only a purple bag around it. No pointless extra box or other materials you just end up throwing away. The purple bag is "PE rated for recycling. My last filter lasted 3 years, which is the same duration they suggested. How I knew it was time to change out the filter was that the unit stopped clearing odors (i.e. cooking, cats) from the room. I did, however, wash the filter every month or so with Ivory dish soap and warm water. 11 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Not washable By Lisa Has this sweet almost acrid odor after washing. I rinsed mine in plain water but I couldn't seem to get rid of the smell. My 2 star rating is in reference to the life of the filter and the fact that I don't believe this product performs well after washing. The filter before washing functions fine. I love my Rabbit Air purifier (its greatly reduced my multiple cat allergies), not a fan of the Charcoal filter. See all 14 customer reviews...

Most helpful customer reviews 23 of 24 people found the following review helpful. Great for the money if you can't use a window unit By hoffdog I wanted to put an evap cooler in our upstairs bedroom but the window where it would go was too narrow. I checked all the reviews and descriptions I could find on several different web sites and decided to go for this portable unit. It has large water capacity, easy to move, can use as a fan only, add ice for real cool air, easy to add water, is quiet enough we left it on one night while we slept. Fan force good, it really moves the air on "high". Haven't emptied it yet, we have had 100 degree weather so it has been on every day. The "humidity" controller basically just determines how much water flows over the filters. The unit does not cool the room like a window evap unit would, but I do recommend it to take the temperature down 15-20 degrees. I am very glad I purchased this product and if I needed another cooler I would get this one again. It actually isn't too bad to look at either. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Effective but very loud By Book Chick Air N Water sent this to me, when a different unit didn't perform. I was eager to try it out. The water is poured through an odd slot in the front. You have to get on your knees to pour it in and see the gauge. If you over fill (which I did the first time because I didn't understand the gauge's readings), it pours out a tube in the back. eesh. I had to fix the little doohickys which oscillate the air as 2 had come out of their slots. No big deal. Turn them on and turn the unit on. WOOSH! Nice cool air comes out with quite a bit of force. I will say it is LOUD. Even on the lowest setting. I have it in my bedroom & found it somewhat hard to sleep with it on. I'm sure it is because it has quite a bit of force to it, but, it comes at a cost. 17 of 25 people found the following review helpful. swamp cooler By Ord A. Most helpful customer reviews 14 of 15 people found the following review helpful. Great A/C By Lane I bought this air conditioner several months ago in preparation for the summer heat. The unit is quiet heavy (90 lbs with shipping materials) so it was a bit heavier than I was expecting. The installation was easy and all of the parts were included in the shipping container. I've used it on and off for several weeks now and love it. My apartment faces west with large windows and it bakes in the sun. At times it is hotter inside than outside even with the windows open. Today it is supposed to be in the mid 90s and my room is nice and cool. At times it is almost too cool. The unit is a bit loud when running on high but not anything unexpected. I run the fan (no a/c) on low in the evenings and it draws in the cool evening air. I'd definitely buy this item again. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. It's a good portable airconditioner By J. Lim I bought this unit at the [...] website. They're selling it for $[...] right now, which is a good price. The air conditioner works really well but I think the air can blow a bit colder. The air is a little bit warmer than the coldest setting of the a/c than all of my current and past cars (TT, Camry, X5, Prius). However, the force with which the air is blown out is pretty strong, much stronger than I thought it would be. Because of this, the air moves around the room pretty nice. The dual hose is nice, you can really feel the hot air escaping by touching the exhaust hose. I couldn't give it 5 stars because it is so LOUD. Even on the lowest setting, it is very loud. I have to turn it off when I'm on the phone with someone. Somehow, the fan only setting is loud too. When the compressor is on, at the highest fan setting, I feel like I'm on a plane. But I guess that's the price you have to pay to stay cool. Anyhow, I'm going to return this air conditioner because my apartment (early 1900s building) has horribly poor insulation. Without this a/c, it would be 95 degrees in my apartment on an 85 degree day. With the royal sovereign unit on full blast, it will be 75 degrees inside on an 85 degree day. I think the air conditioner works great, but my apartment's lack of insulation is just too much of a challenge for this baby to overcome. I don't want to hear it on the max setting all day just to keep it at 75 degrees. I'm probably going to return this one for the 12000btu version of the same model. I'm hoping that this will work out better. All in all, this is a decent A/C, if you have good insulation, and not a lot of sunlight. Please be warned though, this thing is extremely, unbelievably, annoyingly LOUD. I want to give this thing 3 stars because it's so loud, but I don't know how to change my vote. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Worked well for (a mere) 3 years By C. North The A/C worked great, but... After 3 years, we turned it on one day and heard this horrible screeching sound 1.5 seconds after the compressor turned on. This turned out to be the condenser fan (there's 2 fans in the unit). We were disappointed in that we expected a $450 A/C to last longer than 3 years! PROBLEMS: * Royal Soverign web site offers a few parts but not the motor for sale. * We actually found the motor offered by Sears (and even a schematic diagram - better than the R.S. wesbite!), but for almost $200! We could buy a cheap window A/C for this price. * We had to take off all four panels just to get to the motor. Four screws on the motor are easy enough to remove, but we can't take it out since it's attached to the blower wheel. So far haven't found a way to take off the blower wheel without disassembling half the unit. * Conclusion: Unit was designed for cheap assembly, not servicing. Obviously they expect us to buy a new entire unit rather than replace a simple fan motor. If companies truly want to be "environmentally friendly" it's more than just product design... companies need to

House Lightweight but powerful with good energy efficiency describes this product very well. It nearly blew itself over on full fan speed! I had to catch it before it keeled over from the force of the windspeed! I am not kidding you! Very lightweight. It weighs about 7.5 pounds meaning it is good for the elderly and sick who cannot lift heavy objects. I priced these at Wal-Mart and Target and even with shipping I paid about $5 less regardless of fan brand name because I ordered it on Amazon.com. I highly recommend this product because of it's power, light weight, and energy efficiency. VERY EASY TO USE. Only one button and one power cord. Nuff' said. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Very Nice fan By Shane Well I have had the fan for a few months now and I tell you what I like it. It works like any other box fan except it is super light. It is kind of difficult to stand up straight, but you will get the hang of it. What I use it for is to sit in my window and blow air into my room, and I am about to buy another one to blow air out of my room so it can circulate. For a 20 dollar fan you get a good deal. -Won't break if it falls over -Not loud when on low or medium -pushes a lot hair on high 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Quality Fan By S. I got one for my brother, my son and my grandma. It is quiet, which is awesome for my OCD brother who hates loud sounds. It has amazing cooling power, which helps my son who doesn't have AC in his room. And my grandma who can't walk loves that she can control it with the remote. The tower design allows you to put it anywhere and it looks nicer and has much more power than a stand fan. 27 of 27 people found the following review helpful. Lasko Wind Tower 2517 Fan By Stay-at-Home Mom We just bought this today and it is great. We had a Holmes Pedestal Fan that just gave out after about 10 years. It is down in our basement and seems to cool down the room nice. It is on low speed right now and feels great. We aren't way across the room but even on the high it seems to put out a good breeze, not an industrial speed but great for a regular room. We bought it at Walmart for $39.99 + tax so I wouldn't buy for more. 21 of 21 people found the following review helpful. Effective but Noisy By Peter A. La Lena Pros: 1) It's very easy to assemble the stand. But, if you have 2 packages of screws in the box, ignore the pointed screws as they do not fit properly. Use only the flat bottom screws for assembly. 2) The fan is fairly powerful. You can easily feel the fan breeze on low speed 10 feet away. 3) It is fairly quiet, especially on low speed, when used in a stationary position. Cons: 1) It is noisy when oscillating. It gives off a distinct chugging (?) sound as it moves from side to side. The sound is very noticeable in a quiet environment and annoying. 2) All of the fan's functions do not automatically resume after the fan is turned off. If the fan was previously oscillating and is shut off then when you turn it on again you must also re-engage the oscillating feature unlike other brands where everything resumes all at once. 3) It oscillates very slowly at a fixed speed. 4) You must lift the entire fan to reposition the oscillation whereas with some other brands, you just have to twist the tower while the fan remains on the floor to do this. Having to lift the entire fan with its stand is clumsy and inconvenient. See all 61 customer reviews...

The apartment is 33'long and the windows at one end. The first unit I had was not cooling at all. Delonghi said it must be defective and the store I purchased from replaced it. The 2nd unit is "working", but does not cool my apt. The manufacturer claims it is for up to 450 square feet. I think it would work well in a perfectly square enclosed room of 175' with no heat sources. The temperature in my apt before turning it on was 89. After 4 hours of running it, the temperature around the unit was 85. 15 feet away it was 88. I had 3 fans also running to try and circulate the cool air that is coming out of the unit. Overnight I set the thermostat to 80. It never reached that temperature to shut off. The thermostat seems accurate because when I turn it up it shuts off at the same temperature my room thermometer reads. See all 1 customer reviews...

Lasko 1820 Performance 18-Inch Adjustable Oscillating Pedestal Fan

Elegance AND Performance, can it be done? Now it can, with the 18" Elegance & Performance Pedestal Fan¿ The great room has always been difficult to keep cool. Most plastic fans are simply not enough. And your home is not exactly "commercial grade", so those metal fans won't do either. What you need is the 18" Elegance & Performance Pedestal Fan. The stylish elegance grill blends into the surrounding décor, while three whisper-quiet speeds deliver comforting winds. With fully adjustable height, optional oscillation, and adjustable tilt-back - it's a great fan for the great room.

Amazon Sales Rank: #4923 in Home Color: White Brand: Lasko Model: 1820 Number of items: 1 Dimensions: 57.50" h x 20.25" w x 20.25" l, 1.00 pounds 18-inch pedestal fan provides 3 whisper-quiet speeds 90-degree oscillation or stationary cooling; energy efficient Adjustable height and tilt-back head for maximum versatility Sturdy round base; assembles easily with no tools required Measures 20-1/4 by 20-1/4 by 57-1/2 inches; 1-year limited warranty

Most helpful customer reviews 46 of 49 people found the following review helpful. excellent value for cooling down and saving energy at once By Matthew G. Sherwin This three speed adjustable oscillating pedestal fan by Lasko is exactly the way it is advertised. The three speeds all operate smoothly and the fan gets the air circulating rather quickly. Setup is a breeze, the instructions are clear and there are no tools required for the setup. The price is right for what you get: my own fan is just about one year old now and it still works strong and hard to create good air flow. This wonderful fan also cools the room down on days when you can't use an air conditioner or when you simply don't want to use one. The fan can either oscillate or stand still blowing air constantly in one direction--and that's great to have this choice. I usually let it oscillate to get the maximum amount of air flowing throughout the room. The head of the fan does tilt back just as they say it does; but I wouldn't tilt it back all the way--it just doesn't feel like it could stay that way too long without the risk of falling over. I could be wrong; but that's the sense I get. I recommend that the fan stand between four feet to maximum height (which is almost six feet) so that the air current it creates reaches you whether you're lying down or walking around the room. One important feature: this fan can save you money, especially over the long run. It is rather economical to use in that it won't make your electric bill spike sharply upward the way an electric air conditioner would. It does make some noise but not too much noise; the noise actually helps me fall asleep and that's a great extra plus from this fan! The fan comes with a limited warranty for one year just as noted above; but I highly doubt that you'll need to use it. This fan is built to last--certainly more than just one year! Overall, this is a great fan and I highly recommend it as just about the best fan out there in this size and price range. It will not disappoint you. 22 of 23 people found the following review helpful. Moves air perfectly. Too Loud! By Mike J. This fan moves air around perfectly. On those hot summer evenings w/ your A/C blowing, this fan becomes the perfect compliment. Just one thing. This fan is a little loud. If you put the speed seeting to a one, the sound is exceptable but still quite loud. Don't put the setting on 2 or 3 unless you have ear plugs because it sounds like a freight train going through your house and your ears may begin to bleed(lol). Other than that, this fan is great! i would certainly recommend it. 16 of 16 people found the following review helpful. Lasko 1820 Pedestal Fan By Tinker I purchased this fan a month or so ago and it runs all day without a problem. I was concerned as reviewers had complained about a sound that came from it so far it doesn't really bother me I got used to it pretty quickly. I wasn't too happy to see that the cage that fits over the fan itself is made of plastic instead of metal. I didn't have much trouble snapping it in place but I am going to have to be careful when I put it away for the winter that it doesn't get knocked or bumped into because the plastic cage could break and that would be pretty much it if a large chunk of it broke. The plastic cage is the only thing I would say would be a problem other than that it is a decent fan for the price. See all 64 customer reviews...

The AirFlow Breeze Home Heating/Cooling System (Brown) (Fits 4"W x 10"L opening)

Give Your Heating and Cooling System a Boost! The Amazing AirFlow Breeze in Brown works with your existing central heating and cooling system, drawing additional air to the problem areas in your home. Once you set your target comfort level, the built-in temperature sensor takes over! It will direct the powerful fan to pull extra warm or cool air out of weak registers, increasing air flow, and delivering the comfort you demand. About the same noise level as an average room fan. By improving the air flow from your existing central heating and cooling system, the AirFlow Breeze provides an affordable alternative to window air conditioners, space heaters, costly attic fans and complex zoning systems. That's right! Increase your comfort, and save money too! To get technical for a moment, your furnace and air conditioner bring comfort to your home by moving air through ducts to each room in your house. When the fan from the main system cycles off there is still conditioned air lingering in ducts and crawl spaces. The AirFlow Breeze pulls this conditioned air to your rooms, keeping them more comfortable longer, so your furnace or air conditioner will run less often, lowering your utility bills! It's easy to install, with no tools necessary, fitting into most standard vent openings. Best of all, it's safe for children and pets due to low voltage operation. And don't worry, the stylish AirFlow Breeze blends into any room decor. Fits into most standard 4 x 10 vent openings. "

But it doesn't make a huge change in the temperature in our room. 20 of 22 people found the following review helpful. COOL baby!! BEST purchase I've made all year! By Daisy Boo Boo Ok, so I live in a typical small, 3BR, midwest split level home built in the 70's. Probably everyone who's ever lived in one of these (LOTS of you)will probably agree that the upstairs is ALWAYS hotter in summer and cooler in winter - especially the smallest BR - am I right? In the past 4 years, we've spent TONS of $ installing a new furnace, a new air conditioner and a whole house fan in the attic, trying to improve the circulation. While all of these helped (& of course have lowered my energy costs), NOT ONE made such a marked drastic improvement in the room temp as this little gem. I love it, my baby who sleeps in that room loves it - it works great and I think the peeps who disagree might have unrealistic expectations of it. I do have one concern about the safety of it - the fan is recessed down into the vent, but I still think my son could reach his fingers down to it - he's shown an interest. Babies are very curious and not too smart. When he's playing on the floor in his room, I always make sure its turned off. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Not what I thought By M. By "extreme_dig_cm" Update 11-28-08: I've had this for 2 summers now & it still works like new... .....pros..... +...It works great for my medium-sized apartment, keeping it cool. +...It's reasonably quiet on low fan speed; at least quieter than my last air conditioner. (An inexpensive G.E. model) +...Sleek, modern design with good looks, electronic keypad, temp sensor & remote control. +...Multiple settings, with 3 fan speeds (high; med; low) for each: "Fan"; "Cool"; "Energy Saver"; and "Dehumidifier". +...Great price! (At least at the time I bought it) :) .....cons..... -...Installation instructions are a little weak- it's best to have experienced help- drilling involved. -...The included side flaps have a number of air gaps. I recommend white duct tape for extra sealing. -...It advertises "Whisper Quiet" on the box- seems like a bit of marketing exaggeration, in my opinion. -...Temperature sensor seems to be a bit off at times. -..."Energy Saver" seems tricky- instructions say it'll shut off for 3 minutes periodically- mine seems to shut off for good. In spite of these issues, I'm giving this 5 stars- I'm exceedingly happy with it! We get a number of searingly hot 100+ degree summer days with humidity here in Chicago, and my apartment is keeping cool to say the least. I even have to switch to fan sometimes to keep it from getting too cold; it's really that effective. 5 Stars! P.S. This review is for White 10,000 BTU Window A/C by Haier- Amazon ASIN B000CSXTF8. About the temp setting on the keypad: This setting controls when the cold air kicks in. If the temp setting is too high, the cold air will never turn on. If you set it to around 75 degrees or lower, that will indicate that when temperatures rise higher than that, the air conditioner will start the cooling process. Setting it at 70 degrees will likely have the cold air blasting all the time, even to the point of the whole thing freezing over. This temp setting can be adjusted by using the up & down keys. Keep hitting the down key until the cold air kicks in. 17 of 17 people found the following review helpful. Great price & value for those hot, humid summer months By Ron Parker I just moved into a new apartment, and - while the prior tenants had just bought a new air conditioner, it wasn't powerful enough (FYI; air conditioners can ONLY cool ONE room - and they really can't blow air around corners, so whenever you're looking for ANY a.c., always figure out what the square footage of your space is, and buy one that has the proper BTU's accordingly. You don't want an a.c. that doesn't have enough BTU's for your space). As it's always best to buy an air conditioner before summer, I wanted to get one now, that would do my large living room justice, and not have it 'straining' at it's top setting, just to make the room 'bearable'. I had a Haier previously (and the previous tenants had bought a Haier as well). I like them - they're economical, and they perform well. I found this one here at Amazon, and the price (for that BTU's) was very good for me. That's really my main concern (as well as the EER. You should always look for the best EER possible, because it means it'll cost you less to run it). The fact that this air conditioner comes with a remote was only an added plus. Some nice features are it's got a humidity setting, and I always liked air conditioners that you could set by TEMPERATURE - and NOT by LOW, MED, HIGH). It's more accurate, and also means, you'll have the machine operate ONLY when it reaches an uncomfortably high temperature (the government suggests 77º). At this point, I'd just like to make reference to another person's comment regarding the energy saver mode (he said - rightfully - that the a.c. turns off longer than 3 minutes). It DOES - HOWEVER, while I believe that's a mistake on HAIER's part regarding printing, what energy saver DOES do is it gets

Most helpful customer reviews 20 of 21 people found the following review helpful. A Little on the Noisy Side By Stewart Berman Plus: The unit cools well. It is small and easy to move. Minus: The dehumidifier is fairly noisy and it runs when the unit is in dehumidifier mode or in air conditioner mode. The compressor (which only runs in air conditioning mode) is very quiet as is the fan. I would not use this unit in a bedroom. Installing the exhaust hose was a bit difficult as the hose did not have any end coverings and was a tight fit into the widow and air conditioner connectors. The window slider kit is easy to install but the height is too small. The slider is only a little bit bigger that the opening for the window exhaust adapter. With the adapter in the slider does not sit on the bottom of the window frame. In my window there is a half-inch gap between the bottom of the slider and the bottom of the window frame that has to be filled in. BTW, the instructions for removing the unit from the packaging material and box require you to destroy both so there isn't any way to repack the unit if you need to ship it back. 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Poorly designed unit By Van C. Tran This product is not worth it's value. It is poorly designed and pretty much useless in a humid climate. 1. If it's over 90 degrees outside, it will not cool off a medium room fast enough. 2. Window kit required modification. 3. In humid climates, water does not evaporate fast enough. It drips into a very small reservoir which fills up every single hour. The spout at the bottom in the back is hard to reach and drain if unit is resting on the ground. The included drip pan is a joke. This thing leaks uncontrollably, causing a bad odor in your carpet. I had to elevate my unit off the ground so it will drip into a large bucket. You will be waking up every hour due to the reservoir filling up and the compressor stopping, and room temperature rising causing discomfort. I tried to return the product but was just past the 30 day return policy. I will not buy another Soleus product again. If you need something other than a spot cooler, you may want to consider something above 7,000 BTU (you can find higher BTU coolers for close to the same price on Amazon). 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Poor Endurance By Steve in Clearwater, FL My Soleus 7000 only lasted about 2 years before I got an E04 message on the display, which Soleus told me means the compressor is out of Freon and is not repairable. Prior to the E04 message the unit worked great. I live in Central Florida and used it to cool down a den which it did fairly quickly. I ran the unit almost every day between May and October. I guess I got my use out of it, but would have expected it to last more than 24 months before shutting down. See all 9 customer reviews...

Soleus Air FTY-25 10-Inch Wall Mountable Table Fan

10" table fan with three wind speeds, a two hour timer. It can be mounted on the wall or placed on a table. Oscillating front grill.

Amazon Sales Rank: #76102 in Home Size: One Size Color: Silver and Blue Brand: Soleus Air Model: FTY-25 Number of items: 1 Dimensions: 6.40" h x 14.60" w x 14.70" l, 7.00 pounds 10-inch silver-and-blue three-speed oscillating table fan with wall-mount option Fan head pivots 180 degrees; three speeds and oscillator toggle switch Sturdy, silver-tone plastic with blue accents; modern, asymmetrical design 2-hour timer for automatic turn-off; wall-mounting brackets; 5-foot power cord 115 volts; measures 14-1/2 by 14-1/2 by 6-1/2 inches; one-year warranty

Amazon.com Review A good fan can make the difference between a sleepless and a restful night. Soleus Air's FTY-25 10-inch table fan has three speeds and a five-finned blade--five fins move more air than the traditional four--to help make a hot, stuffy room feel much cooler. In addition, it has a timer that can be set for up to two hours; that way the fan shuts off by the time the evening is cooling down. The fan head is anchored on top and bottom like a globe, allowing it 180 degrees of rotation, and the fan grill can oscillate to push air into a wider area. The FTY-25 table fan has a modern look to it, with an asymmetrical, crescent-shaped stand that curves around the circular fan head. It's built of heavy-duty silver plastic and has blue-gray detailing. It sits on two rounded feet; there are wall-mounting screw brackets on the underside of the feet. Speed selection is made with a sliding knob on the side, and there's a simple on-off toggle for the oscillation. The timer button echoes the crescent shape of the fan's body; it is marked in 20-minute increments, but it can be set at any point between 0 and 120 minutes. The power cord is 5 feet long, which can be especially helpful when using the FTY-25 as a wall fan. To use as a wall fan, mount two screws vertically to a wall at a distance of 7-5/6 inches from each other, and use the two wall-mounting screw brackets in the bottom of the feet. Always unplug fan before cleaning; use a soft cloth, dry or only slightly moistened, and towel or allow to air dry afterward. Do not allow water to drip on or enter fan housing. The 115-volt Soleus Air FTY-25 table fan measures 14-1/2 by 14-1/2 by 6-1/2 inches, with a 10-inch fan head. Soleus Air offers a 1-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal use conditions. --Garland Withers

Most helpful customer reviews 38 of 38 people found the following review helpful. Very quiet, including a very quiet timer By Todd V. Leone This fan is whisper quiet, even at the highest speed. The tilt function is useful -- it tilts at a 45-degree angle, so it's necessary to reposition the entire fan as to direction once you have it tilted to aim it where you want the air to go. The rotating grille, at first, looks symmetrical. On closer inspection, each successive louver changes angle as they move around the circle of the grille. Thus, when you turn the grille rotation feature on, the air sweeps in a wide conical pattern as it moves away from the fan. If you want the air to go in a particular direction, you can leave the grille rotation switch in the off position and rotate the grille by hand until the air is blowing in the direction you want. I actually use the two-hour timer feature a lot. The exhaust fan in my bathroom is ineffective, so when I shower, I leave the door open and have a fan blowing into the bathroom so that moisture doesn't cling to the walls and cause mildew. After the shower, I keep the fan on for two hours to make sure the entire bathroom dries out. My tile stays mildew-free a lot longer when I do this. I can leave for work with the fan running. During a heat wave, when it cools off at night as it does here, I set the fan in my window, up against the screen, to bring cool air inside. At bedtime, if it's still a few degrees too warm, I keep the fan on and use the 2-hour timer so it doesn't stay on all night. This is the quietest fan I've ever owned, though not the most powerful. It's great for smaller rooms, especially the bedroom at night when it's warm. The timer is absolutely quiet. (If you happen to get one that ticks loudly as another reviewer did, it's defective and you should exchange it for another one.) One other nice thing is that you can mount this fan on a wall or on a door jamb, high up and out of the way. There are a couple of key-hole shaped screw holes in the bottom of the feet to accept mounting screws. Very useful if you have a situation where you need the fan in a permanent place and you want it out of the way -- I'm going to mount it on the wall just outside my bathroom for just this reason and buy a second one for the living room, to use on the window sill. 19 of 19 people found the following review helpful. A wonderful fan! By G. Vessels I'm very puzzeled by another poster's comments about the "ticking timer". With the timer dial turned fully counter-clockwise (marked 'ON', meaning constant running/no timer), the spring in the mechanical timer runs out of steam after maybe 15 minutes and the fan is one of the quietest I've ever had. I originally bought this fan because of the wall-mounting feature, which I needed to equalize the air conditioning in my home. I planned to mount it in a doorway. Before I had time to hang it, I stuck it on top of the TV at the foot of my bed and it hasn't moved since!!! The rotating grill gives a nice, gentle, cool breeze every 30-45 seconds. Love it! I could do without all the plastic, but this fan did hard time last summer and hasn't let me down this season. It needs a serious vacuuming, frankly. Other fans from this manufacturer appear kinda cheezy, but the FTY-25 is a winner. 21 of 22 people found the following review helpful. Bought a couple of these By Evan Lets get the obvious out of the way, this is a really nice looking little fan. Especially for the price. It also can be used as a conversation piece since some people haven't seen the oscillating fans like this one that don't actually move, except for the inner circle. So far so good. The timer works, but I've only used it one time, mainly to see if it works. Now for some bad news. I bought a total of 3 of these. One for a bedroom, one for my office and one for our kitchen. I bought these all around 12-14 months ago. As of right now, 1 still works, the other two won't even turn on. For more bad
