Not as good as the previous Vornado compact fans of Mike Hall, the new model 530 is established as well as older Vornados the company as an innovator of quality? In this essay I compare the new 530 to two older compact models I have. These are the excellent model 180 compact fan (infinite speed is no longer available) and very good compact 510 (3 speeds and in very small quantities - Be wary of dealers that replaces the current model 530 for 510). These (and the largest, the venerable model 280) have properties very quiet, quality and longevity. My comments should be the model 530, regardless of the color of the plastic case does not apply because the color does not affect the performance of this product. FEATURES The 3-speed compact design is similar to the older models (note that some models to control slightly more expensive Vornado infinite speed, instead of 3-speed but are otherwise the same). But 530 has a disadvantage that is likely missing in promo copy of The fan head does not tilt as much as the older models. This model tilts only about 50 degrees, while the older fans inclined at about 80 degrees. The old design is much better to take the air from floor to ceiling. The fan blades CALM hum make as little noise as the older models (calm down, moderate amounts of media, a lot of "noise" at the top), but the 530 has an irritating low side, engine noise models more old don 't have. One of the fan blades on my 530 was still in the process of plastic molding, which had not been removed. Definitely a problem with quality control. Superb little fan of RDI Vornados owns two-one "medium" model (6xx) and large (7xx). Early in the tradition of excellence continues Vornado, and I am very happy with it moves the air fans like no other format, and looks very well done. And 'perfect for a small room. Vornados are not particularly handy to have pointed directly toward you for the speed and concentration of the air flow ... is more like an air gun.
